Safeguarding

All the governors and staff at New Marston strive to keep children safe by:

  • providing a safe environment for them to learn

  • identifying children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, taking appropriate action

  • preventing unsuitable adults from working with children

  • promoting safe practice and challenging any poor or unsafe practice

  • identifying instances where there are grounds for concern about a child’s welfare and initiating or taking appropriate action to keep them safe

  • contributing to effective partnership working between all those involved in providing services for our children

All staff follows the Keeping children safe in Education guidance published by the DfE.

Pupils are encouraged to talk through any worries with their trusted adults. We recommend they have a selection of adults (approx 5) from a mixture of home and school. Childline are also available for all young people. Click here to find out how to contact them.
